St Joseph Pain and palliative Care Trust is managed by the Congregation of medical Sisters of St. Joseph (MSJ). This initiative is in response to the need assessment survey of the place preceding the launching of the particular mission. The survey had showed the prevalence of the palliative care need and it was evaluated that majority of these cases could be effectively managed by regular visits and training of family members apart from the Institutionalized care. Accordingly we registered a Trust for this purpose at Chumoukedima District in Nagaland in the month of February 2021. The construction of the 20 Bedded St Joseph Palliative Care Center also started in the month of February 2021. The Inauguration of the center was held on 24th April 2022 by the Hon’ble chief minister of Nagaland.
