It is a care catering to all dimensions of a person including their physical, psychosocial, social and spiritual needs.

The goal of palliative care is nothing but to improve the quality of one’s life and his/her family.

  • Terminally ill Care / Palliative care
    • The care and management of the patient during the last days / weeks of their life when it becomes clear that the patient is in a progressive state of decline, it is also called End – of – Life care. Dying with dignity! Patient should be accompanied or followed to have a peaceful, natural and comfortable death rather than a death in an atmosphere of aggressive, isolating, distressful, costly and invasive interventions.
  • Supportive Care:
    • It’s all interventions that help the patient to maximize the benefit of treatment and to live as best as possible with the effects of the disease.
  • Physiotherapy
    • The Department of physiotherapy aims at improving functional mobility and quality of life. As per the need assessment basing on the various neurological conditions, physiotherapeutic education and training physical disabilities to enhance, maintain and restore maximum movements of the body.
  • Empowering the Families
    • We spend time in talking and explaining to the family care givers and gradually helping them to increase their confidence in coping with the issues. We train them to attain the confidence and skills to look after their loved ones. In addition, the family members receive ongoing emotional and psychological support including much needed bereavement counseling.
  • Home Based Care:
    • SJPC provides the patient care in the home-based setting too. Our home care extends quality carefree of cost to the patients living around center. The sick person is visited at their residence and provided with the required care. We keep them in touch and give necessary help all through their illness. Through this we intend to give awareness to the patient and their family members that they may be able to manage the pain and other symptoms at home

St Joseph Pain and palliative Care Center (SJPC): The 20 bedded SJPC was inaugurated by the Hon’ble chief minister of Nagaland Shri. Nephieu Rio and started functioning in the mid- year of 2022.
